The descriptor is encrypted before it is stored with your account and is used only to compare a future face scan for sign-in. Face sign-in is optional, can be disabled in Settings, and the saved descriptor can be removed there. You can continue to use your password instead. This experimental feature does not provide liveness detection and should not be treated as a secure biometric identity check.
